Stock Your Freezer with Local Pork and Beef

Now is the perfect time to consider purchasing locally raised pork and beef if you’re looking to explore a variety of cuts to stock your freezer! One of the significant advantages of buying local meat is the assurance of consistent quality, free from added hormones. We vacuum seal our meats, providing the best packaging option for long-term storage, with a shelf life of up to a year in your freezer.

By purchasing half or whole non-confined and non-factory locally-raised pork, you will receive all of the cuts. Here is an estimated inventory of what you can expect to take home from your half:

Smoked Ham
Pork Chops
Bacon
Pork Loin Roasts
Pork Shoulder Roasts
Bratwursts
Pork Sausage
Pork Steaks
Pork Spare Ribs
Neck Bones

The cost of a half or whole processed pig is $3.45 per pound on dressed weight. Dressed weights will vary from pig to pig but generally between 125 to 165 pounds per half.

This price covers:

  • The purchase and transportation of the locally raised pig to Wurst Haus
  • Harvest and processing charges
  • Curing and smoking charges for the ham and bacon
  • Sausage charges for the pork sausage and bratwurst
  • Feel free to place multiple pig orders and stock up.

Please be aware that, due to the unique characteristics of each pig, the quantity you receive may vary slightly. On average, a half pig yields approximately 95 pounds of take-home weight, fitting comfortably within about 4 cubic feet of freezer space.

If you’re curious about the origins of our locally raised pigs, they are sourced from a reputable family farm in Franklin County, Missouri. These pigs are celebrated for their exceptional quality and consistently deliver well-marbled, flavorful pork.

We are proud to offer locally-raised beef. When you purchase our beef, you are getting meat sourced from a single animal, unlike grocery store options where the origin is often unclear. Our meat is sourced directly from trusted local farmers.
