The Hermann Wurst Haus recently won several awards for our artisan, hand crafted smoked and fresh sausages at the Missouri Association of Meat Processors 75th anniversary annual convention in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday March 8th.
The MAMP convention, one of the largest meat processor events in the United Sates represents meat processors of all sizes. Attendees attend seminars, a 75 booth trade show and a sausage, ham, bacon competition to select the ‘Best of the Wurst”. Entries are judged by a panel of academia, professional sausage makers and student grad students.
Our winners were Peppered Sweet Bologna, Braunschweiger, Best of Show Bratwurst, Hickory Smoked Franks and Venison Finocchiona Salami. Attending from the Hermann Wurst Haus were Mike and Lynette Sloan, Arlin Hoener, Patrick Mallory and Britt Hoener.
Wurstmeister Mike was elected to the board of directors and will serve a 2 year term on that board. Mike previously served on the board from 1997-2004 as director, vice president and president. Mike also was a featured speaker on Saturday afternoon with John Brewer of Excalibur Seasoning from Pekin, IL.
