Chocolate Covered Bacon
Chocolate and Bacon come together in our Chocolate Covered Bacon Recipe. You can use any of our bacons but we highly recommend our Bourbon Pepper Bacon. Delicious!
INGREDIENTS
- 12  strips Hermann Wurst Haus Bourbon Pepper Bacon 1 lb.
- 12Â wooden skewers
- 6  oz white candy coating chopped
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- Toppings:Â chopped nuts, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, brown sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
- Thread each strip of bacon onto a skewer. Place skewers on a wire rack on a large baking sheet. Bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes or until crisp. Cool completely.
- Melt the white candy coating in the microwave, stir until smooth. Combine chocolate chips and shortening; melt in the microwave and stir until smooth.Â
- With pastry brushes, coat the bacon on both sides with melted coatings. Top each strip with toppings if desired. Place on wax paper lined baking sheets. Refrigerate until firm. Store in the refrigerator.
