Finocchiona is a Tuscan salami, whose name comes from "finocchio" or fennel, which is used to flavor the pork used to make this sausage. Legend says that a Tuscan peasant boy stole a fresh salami and hid it in a wild fennel field. When he returned for it, it had absorbed the fennel aromas. A Tuscan favorite, it's dry-cured to develop its rich aroma, the fennel seeds and other spices add layers of flavor to the creamy sausage.
This rich salami is delicious as a quick snack, on an antipasti plate, perfect with flavorful cheeses, and served with robust Hermann wines and Hermann Wurst Haus Beers.
Shelf-stable, no refrigeration required. Sold in a bundle of two sausages. Approximately 9 oz./sausage.
This is the best salami ever! Mike recommended it, I only bought one, but should've bought more! Had a few friends over and Sliced some up for an antipasto platter and everyone loved it, had to slice more, which didn't leave much left for me to enjoy. Coming back to Hermann for Oktoberfest in a few months, I am definitely buying more this time around!!
