This is a holiday favorite at Wurstmeister Mike and Wurst wife Lynette's house, featuring Wurst Haus Breakfast Sausage.
1 stick butter
3 cups diced onions
3 cups diced celery
1 1/2 lbs. bulk Breakfast Sausage
25 slices white and wheat bread
1 1/2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups chicken broth
Melt the butter in alrge frying pan over mediun-high heat. Saute the onions and celery for about 5 minutes. Add the sausage and cook until browned, about 10 minutes. Slice the bread into cubes or break up by hand into medium-small pieces in a large bowl. Add the pultry seasoning, black pepper and salt and mix well.
Add the cooked vegetables and sausage and mix well.
Add the chicken broth and mix well. There will be enough stuffing for a 10-15 lb. turkey and an 8 x 8 inch pan.
