Hermann’s 41st annual Hermann Wurstfest, March 28 & 29, is our national holiday for our “wursts”.
Professional meat processors attend from all over Missouri, with samples and products for sale at two Wurstfest locations; Stone Hill Winery and Hermannhof Festhalle. More highlights – Professional and amateur sausage-making competition, Kraut making class, German dancing and music. Hermann Wurst Haus will also be serving samples and selling sausage at the Stone Hill Winery Wurstfest location, Saturday & Sunday.
Last year’s Wurstfest Sausage & Kraut Making Class, was such a success we are repeating it this year, Friday, March 27, 3 pm-6 pm, sponsored by the Hermann Chamber of Commerce. Learn, hands-on, the German tradition of sausage and kraut making. Join three-time hall of fame Wurstmeister Mike Sloan for the sausage making portion of class. Dan Kuebler and Joey Los will lead a hands-on workshop on making naturally fermented kraut the same way as Hermann settlers. Advance registration is required.
